NORTH NODE IN PISCES, SOUTH NODE IN VIRGO
The nodes are changing signs January 11th, 2025 to the Pisces/Virgo axis. This means that most of the eclipses in 2025 will happen in these signs. This shift already begun with the Pisces eclipse in September, 2024.
The nodes are these points (not planets) in the sky that cross the path of the ecliptic between the Sun and the Moon that define the eclipses. The nodes and eclipses initiate endings and new beginnings. These endings and new beginnings are going to happen in the areas of your life represented by Pisces and Virgo, wherever you have those signs in your birth chart. When we have eclipses in Pisces and Virgo, these parts of your chart and life are activated.
Some of the new endings and beginnings that the nodes and eclipses can stir may have to do with a new job, relationship, living situation, sense of self and identity, new interests or hobbies, new habits, adopting new beliefs.
The north node hungers. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, so the north node is hungering for a Jupitarian experience, but the Pisces side of Jupiter (not the Sagittarius side). Pisces is the nocturnal, water sign of Jupiter where Venus is exalted. We are being invited into a Jupitiarian and a Venusian space, where art and creativity are valued; where nonbinary, trans, genderqueer folks, women, and femmes are valued; where fluidity reigns; where our imagination is deep and vast; where our intuition and spiritual connection wants to develop more.
With the north node moving into Pisces, this elevates our consciousness bringing our attention to the soul of humanity, who we are on a spiritual level reminding us that we are all connected. This reminds us of the ways that many humans have become DISconnected with their souls, and cause destruction instead of harmony.
The south node releases. With the South Node in Virgo, this helps us let go of control. Deep down, Virgo wants a space where it can let its guard down, be soft and vulnerable. Pisces offers Virgo this space. The south node releases, lets go of, purges, and ends things. Virgo is ruled by Mercury and is also where Mercury is exalted. We are being invited to let go of some Mercury type things that no longer serve us, whether that’s technology, a certain way of communicating, or an outdated idea. Mercury often inspires us to re-think things, but with the north node in Pisces, this is less about re-thinking, and more about re-imagining, feeling, and listening to our intuition.
Pisces wants to feel the depths of the soul. Pisces/Jupiter is an artist and creator of life. Pisces wants to be moved by art that speaks to its soul. It needs to escape into the ether to fantasize. It has a rich, internal world that it is always creating.
Jupiter also represents higher truth and knowledge. Mercury represents knowledge and information. The south node in Mercury’s sign invites us to let go of information and knowledge that isn’t true, that doesn’t help us or serve humanity. The north node in Jupiter’s sign leads us into a spiritual wisdom.
Both Pisces and Virgo are healers. We will feel compelled to release healing practices or modalities that haven’t worked for us or aren’t aligned with the greater good of humanity. We will, then, feel inspired to listen to the deeper wisdom within as to what forms of healing we truly need.
Virgo/Mercury is the mind and systems. Pisces/Jupiter is our imagination and our feelings. It’s time to get out of our heads and to let go of the obsession with information and technology, and, instead, to connect more with our hearts, our dreams, and our deeper meaning and purpose in life.
