THE ASTROLOGY OF 2025: MAJOR, PIVOTAL SHIFTS
2024 was a big, chaotic, transitional year. 2025 will be an even BIGGER, transitional year because a lot of planets change signs that they have been in for quite some time.
Some of those planets, though, don't fully submerge into their new signs until 2026. So, 2025 is a transitional year, and by the time 2026 comes around, things are going to be a little more settled and in their place, especially the latter part of 2026.
Here's a quick list of the major astrological transits of 2025:
North Node moves into Pisces, South Node into Virgo (January)
Mars retrograde in Cancer (January and February)
Neptune enters Aries (March)
Aries eclipse (March)
Virgo eclipse (March)
Venus retrograde in Aries and Pisces (March and April)
Saturn enters Aries (May)
Jupiter enters Cancer (June)
Uranus enters Gemini (July)
A NEAR exact Saturn-Neptune Conjunction
Eclipses in Pisces and Virgo (September)
2025 has MAJOR cardinal energy and mutable energy. These signs will be activated and impacted the most.
One of the major transitions in 2025 is Neptune moving into Aries. Neptune has been in Pisces since 2012. Neptune will move into Aries in March, and it will be in Aries until October. But, it will dip back into Pisces in October, and then come 2026, it will fully submerge into Aries for about 12 years or so. Because Neptune is a slow planet, the new changes it ignites will be gradual; it's going to get you thinking more creatively about a different area of your life.
We also have Saturn moving into Aries in May. Saturn has been in Pisces since March 2023. But, like Neptune, it will also dip back into Pisces in September before it fully submerges into Aries in early 2026 for two to three years. In July, Saturn and Neptune will come VERY close to making an exact conjunction, but the ACTUAL exact conjunction doesn’t happen until 2026. Nonetheless, we will be feeling the Saturn-Neptune energy all year.
In addition, Uranus will change signs for the first time since 2019. Uranus is roughly in a sign for around seven years, so this is the first time Uranus is changing signs. Uranus will move into Gemini in July, but it will dip back into Taurus in November before it fully submerges into Gemini in 2026.
Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn are all dipping their toes into the next sign, but not fully submerging there for a while until 2026. However, Jupiter will enter Cancer in June and stay there for a year, until June 2026, and the lunar nodes are going to change signs here in January. The North Node will move into Pisces, and the South Node will move into Virgo.
It’s not common for all of these planets to begin to change signs in the same year, so that's what makes 2025 significant. 2025 is a big year for the world at large. It's transitional for everyone in that regard.
It’s likely transitional for everyone on a more personal level too because all of these planets are moving into a different sector of your chart, which means they will start activating different areas of your life. They're going to start to leave the areas that they've been in, and move into new territory.
You will notice that difference in your life. You will notice the focus in your life changing. Because Neptune, Saturn, and Uranus are going to do a little dance, some of those changes are going to be gradual. There will be an initiation of something new, but then there's also going to be going back, reviewing, and reflecting before the changes really cement themselves. By 2026, there will be new changes. There's always change, right? That's obvious. That's inevitable.
But, not every year has major turning points or major changes in your life. This year could ignite major changes for you, especially for the cardinal and mutable signs. But, before I explain why, I want to say something about Pluto in Aquarius in regards to the fixed signs. As a whole, the fixed signs are probably not going to experience the most pivotal times in their life this year, but they will start to notice Pluto in Aquarius.
As we begin 2025, Pluto is in Aquarius for good for 20 years. There's no more dipping back into Capricorn. Pluto is fully in Aquarius now. This affects Aquarius rising folks the most, as well as Aquarius Suns and Aquarius Moons, but it impacts all of the fixed signs, which are Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio, and Taurus.
The fixed signs will feel Pluto in Aquarius the most, but not all at once because Pluto is there for 20 years, so this is a gradual change. Pluto is an opportunity for rebirth, and Aquarius risings are going to be experiencing that rebirth the most.
But, even if you are a fixed sign rising, you will feel Pluto in Aquarius more than the other signs. If your ascendant is at an early degree (like 0-3 degrees) of a fixed sign, then you're going to be experiencing Pluto's energy the most in 2025 because Pluto will be at the beginning degrees of Aquarius.

Setting New Foundations For Cardinal Signs
If your rising sign is cardinal (Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, Aries), then 2025 will be activating all the major areas of your life. This includes who you are, how you identify, your body, your relationship to your body, and how you feel in your body.
2025 will be activating your career, inspiring you to make new career moves and changes, whether that means entering a whole new career entirely or rising up within the career you already have. Maybe you've started a business over the last year or so and you've been building it slowly, and it will start to really gain more traction and movement taking off more this year. If you've been wanting to make career changes, this is the year for you, cardinal signs.
Changes with your home and living situation and environment are activated for cardinal rising sings as well. You could move to a new location, into a new home, or live with different people. Your relationship with your parents might change. Relationship changes in general are on the horizon. If you're single and you've been wanting to meet someone, this is the year to put your intention into doing that.
If you're already in a relationship and you enjoy your relationship, then you might be making changes to your relationship dynamics, how you live together or where you live together. These changes can be positive, and will likely be a mix of both positive and challenging as that’s what life seems to offer.
There will be a positive boost for cardinal signs in the latter half of the year, in particular, because of Jupiter moving into Cancer in June. Jupiter in Cancer will add more luck, fortune and good spirit to the cardinal signs. This also means that when challenges arise, Jupiter can help smooth things out, especially more for cardinal signs the latter half of this year.
Saturn and Neptune moving into Aries affects the cardinal signs the most, which will bring new beginnings to the major areas of your life of career relationships, home, and your relationship to yourself. Sometimes, you feel like you’re entering whole new versions of yourself or like you’re growing into a new person, and this could be one of those years for you if cardinal signs are prominent in your birth chart.
With Pluto no longer in Capricorn, this is a relief for the cardinal signs: Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn. Cardinal signs can move on into a totally different chapter of their lives without having to deal with as many extremes. Capricorn will, especially, feel this weight lifted.
Major Beginnings and Endings for Mutable Signs
It’s also an important year for the mutable signs: Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarius. We're starting the year off with the lunar nodes moving into Pisces and Virgo, and that means that most of the eclipses this year will happen in those signs. That brings new beginnings and endings for all of us, but it's going to be most potent for the mutable signs. If your rising, Sun, or Moon sign is in any of the mutable signs, then this could be a pivotal year for you.
In March, there will be an eclipse in Virgo, then in September, there will be eclipses in Pisces and Virgo. Those are going to be the turning point months for mutable signs.
In addition, Jupiter will remain in Gemini until June, which is most favorable for the mutable signs offering you more opportunities. In July, Uranus enters Gemini impacting Gemini risings, suns and moons. If you are Gemini rising, Sun, or Moon, you will feel inspired to do things differently in your life, with your career, living situation, and/or with your relationships.
Uranus disrupts and surprises. It sparks you to do things differently than how you normally do them. Uranus can also destabilize. So, for example, if Uranus is entering your career house, then it can spark a period where you feel like doing different kinds of work or shaking up your career. You will feel Uranus start to shake things up, and you will start to feel the spark to do things differently than how you've been doing them.
Whether you have planets in Gemini or not, Gemini occupies a certain house in your chart, and that's where Uranus will enter, and ignite new and different habits, actions and avenues.
